Born out of a cold basement in Ottawa, Ontario Canada, Sonder is 5 piece progressive metal band that thrives in their dark, heavy tone and atmosphere. Technical, ambient, and creative music with a distinct voice on each members' respective instrument. Jack Kuzmyk (Bass/Vocals), Evan Hayden-Selkirk (Keys/Vocals), Myke Mcilroy (Guitar), Vincent Belanger (Guitar) and Sean Connor (Drums) are all graduates of the Algonquin College, Music Industry Arts program and met during their classes together. The 5 became quick friends and bandmates in 2015, forming their band “Nessie”. In their first years they created an EP and their first full length album, “The Abandoned Child”. Shortly after its release, the band started producing a much different sound than what they previously had to offer. Maturing in both skills, tastes and life, led them down a more serious musical career path. Realizing this, they knew a rebranding was imminent. In 2022 Nessie became a fond past life and Sonder was born. Heavy and hungry they now work to be a must hear/must see experience not only in Ottawa, but across the globe.
