Jennifer Foster brings her acclaimed new album Powerline to The Black Sheep Inn.

Praised by Ron Sexsmith as "a wonderful collection of songs," Powerline blends vivid storytelling with acoustic-driven folk-pop, and showcases Foster's gift for crafting songs that are both meaningful and musically surprising.

Foster is one of those rare artists who feels instantly familiar yet entirely her own - a singer-songwriter whose warm, sunlit folk-pop carries a '70s sensibility with welcome gusts of rock and roll. With an authentic voice that has been compared to Emmylou Harris meets Jane Siberry, her musical storytelling takes you places you don't expect, and turns any room she's playing into something closer to a living room.

Although based in Toronto, many of the songs on Powerline were inspired by the New Brunswick farm where she grew up - colourful snapshots of the landscape and inner world that shaped her, set against a backdrop of sudden change, love, and loss. Powerline marks Foster's fourth release; her previous album earned a JUNO Award nomination for Producer of the Year (Michael Phillip Wojewoda). She's collaborated widely across the Canadian music landscape, working with artists including Ron Sexsmith, Carole Pope, Lori Cullen, Kevin Hearn (Barenaked Ladies), Melanie Doane, Moe Berg, and The Pursuit of Happiness. You might also recognize her from five seasons singing as a Jazzagal on Schitt's Creek.

Joined by guitarist Ken Dirschl, Foster brings Powerline to the legendary Black Sheep Inn on August 20.

Amanda Mabro is an acclaimed multicultural singer-songwriter, producer, and vocal coach whose career has spanned more than 25 years. Praised by the Montreal Gazette for the "open-heart surgery of her genre-straddling songs," she has built a reputation for emotionally fearless songwriting and captivating live performances that move effortlessly across genres.

Her work has taken her to stages around the world, from the Montreal Jazz Festival and the Brussels Opera House to OSHEAGA. Along the way, she has shared the stage with Arcade Fire, Celine Dion, and Vanessa Carlton, while collaborating as a songwriter and producer with Ron Sexsmith, Caracol, Rob Szabo, Tim Abraham, and numerous emerging artists.

LOGAN is a soulful and dynamic singer-songwriter whose work is both intimate and immediately engaging. Her moody and emotive vocals highlight both her love of R&B and the more stripped down folk sounds that evoke that special cozy feeling in anyone seeking a musical balm for the soul.
