Tonight’s celebration of the classical guitar brings together two of the world’s leading guitar quartets—the Los Angeles Guitar Quartet (LAGQ) and the Canadian Guitar Quartet (CGQ). These internationally acclaimed ensembles unite for a dynamic program featuring quartets, octets, and a show-stopping finale with Ottawa’s own guitar orchestra.

The evening begins with CGQ’s signature eclecticism and virtuosity, including world premieres from their Well-Tempered Four Seasons collection. They’ll then be joined by LAGQ for a groovy medley of South American folk themes. LAGQ takes the spotlight in the second half, bringing their renowned inventiveness and joyful spirit, before both quartets return for a rousing finale: Patrick Roux’s La valse des temps nouveaux, performed with a full ensemble of local guitarists.
