Returning to Chamberfest after a ten-year hiatus, world-renowned Canadian pianist Jon Kimura Parker presents a fabulous programme of solo piano music spanning from Mozart to Chick Corea. At home on the international concert stage and across a vast array of genres, Kimura Parker is one of the world's leading pianists.
This evening, Kimura Parker offers a tasting menu of pianistic highlights, from Ludwig van Beethoven's Appassionata Sonata to the watery world of Maurice Ravel's Jeux d'eau, to jazz-inflected works by Chick Corea and Oscar Peterson. Also on the menu tonight is Harold Arlen's Wizard of Oz Fantasy, heard on Kimura Parker's most recent album "Fantasy," and praised by Musical Toronto as giving "a big, clear picture window of a rich soul and great artistic depth."
Catch Jon Kimura Parker's other festival performance on Thursday, July 30 at 12PM alongside members of the Poiesis Quartet!
