The Desert Island Big Band: The Desert Island Big Band is the pseudonym of Stefan Jurewicz—musician, producer (Kick Me Records), and author (Lemon, Milk Crate Shorts) from Ottawa, Canada. Informed by artists like David Bowie, St Vincent, Beck, and The Kills, the Desert Island Big Band uses music as a vehicle for exploration without sacrificing pop sensibility and with a heavy emphasis on storytelling. In 2026, DIBB is releasing their debut LP titled “Elaborate Dogs,” a dada-esque romp through the enigmatic “Fourth Leg,” the metaphysical, multi-dimensional dream world we all travel to when we sleep. Accompanied by his live band, The Mirage, DIBB’s live show incorporates hand puppets, a giant plaster mask, choreography, costume, and set design.
