The Liquor Store is a band made up of 6 young, talented musicians from Montreal. Since 2015, the band has been promoting its contagious, danceable energy through numerous festivals (FIJM, Festival de Jazz de Lévis, Festi jazz de Rimouski, etc.) and tours in Quebec, Ontario and the Maritime provinces.
The Liquor Store offers explosive live interpretations as well as more intimate, sophisticated and thoughtful studio performances. With three albums to their credit, the group explores a wide range of styles - R&B, funk, hip-hop, soul, electronica and jazz - and offers a refreshing vision of urban music in Quebec.
Their second album, "Colossus", released in October 2021, is a jazz-flavored musical fantasy from the darkest corners of the sextet's creative minds. Acclaimed from the outset, it features 7 instrumental pieces, each more bewitching than the last. "Colossus" was nominated at ADISQ for Best Jazz Album 2022.
Its biting melodies and supercharged rhythm section stimulate the senses, making it an ideal album for letting off steam on the dance floor.
