Tango Golf Tango
at LIVE! on Elgin
With PHASEZ & Salem Mars
PHASEZ:
Phasez makes his music to share and stamp his experiences in life, as he enters and exits various “Phasez” of life. His songwriting is reflective of his own morals and beliefs that he melds into his music; to pass on an introspective message inside of the sounds he creates for his art.
Salem Mars:
With all the atmospheric nostalgia of retrowave and the melancholic melodies of electro-pop, alternative artist Salem Mars creates a soundscape that lingers in the past and gazes far into the future. Inspired by her surroundings and her unique perspective on the world, Salem Mars has been writing songs for as long as she can remember, drawing on her experiences and crafting them into something memorable and tangible. Personal struggles and tensions brought her music career to a temporary close, leaving the label she was with and making the hard decision to take a music hiatus, setting out on a voyage in search of her true self. Contemplating her career path and coming out as bi, gave Salem the acceptance she needed, offering a moment of euphoria and freedom. Salem had the revelation that she could create music however she liked and in doing so, stop caring about what others thought of her creative ventures and who she really was. This stage of her journey connected her to like-minded individuals who would play an important part in discovering her self-worth and potential as an artist, and as a human being.
Tango Golf Tango:
Dark Tropical. That's how Tango Golf Tango define their new musical journey. Both highly reflective and a tad psychedelic, the four-piece band finally reveals its genuine identity. Carried by the waves of the dadaist and humanist currents, the collective intends to be, first and foremost, an inspiring laboratory where one can feel free to breathe and explore while leaving all ego at the door. Listening to their sound, some people might have images of Bonnie & Clyde making out on a plastic beach, surrounded by bonobos while Montell Jordan watches from an UFO….but it’s a bit reductive.
