Aurora’s Reef is a dynamic five-piece reggae ensemble rooted in the heart of Canada’s capital. Their live performances effortlessly blend original songs and covers, spanning sounds from Sublime to Black Sabbath.
Yacé
Yacé is an AfroRnB group based in Ottawa led by Lisa Yacé. They formed originally in 2022 for Lisa’s graduate recital from Carleton University and continued outside of school from there. Their influences include classic examples of the Afrobeat sound such as Fela Kuti and WOYA as well as modern examples like Burna Boy, J hus and Rema. Yacé recently played at AfroFest and The Kanata dance and music festival however, their individual members have played all over the city and beyond at events like Bluesfest, Jazz Fest, Cityfolk, Festival des Outaouais and Oktober fest. Yacé is a band that can play a variety of genres from Jazz to Afrobeat, to RnB to funk and more.
