Mike Evin with special guest Amanda Mabro at LIVE! on Elgin
MIKE EVIN: Heartfelt piano-pop troubadour Mike Evin makes vulnerable and harmonically rich music that has been called a “lesson in ‘old school’ pop” (Roadie Music), and it’s made him a favorite among some of Canada’s most renowned musicians, including BNL and Ron Sexsmith. Montreal-born and now based in Toronto, he’s developed a devoted fan base throughout North America and the UK with his poignant storytelling, propulsive piano playing, conversational singing and adventurous melodies that live inside you. His new album, the stripped-down Something Stirs When You Sing, is his most immediate work to date.
AMANDA MABRO: A Montreal-born artist with multicultural roots, Amanda Mabro is a critically-acclaimed singer-songwriter, vocalist, vocal coach, vocal producer, event producer and performance artist. With a career that has spanned over 20 years, she is known for the "open-heart surgery of her genre-straddling songs" (Jordan Zivitz, Montreal Gazette) and powerful, engaging performances that have charmed international audiences, from the Montreal Jazz Festival and the Brussels Opera House to OSHEAGA and the Toronto Jazz Festival.
