In celebrating the Rainbow Bistro's 40th birthday, School House, Clay Hazey, and Jade Hilton will be joined by the talented May Davis for one final stop on their Daylight Savings Tour.
School House is a folk band from Ottawa. After moving in together, the three friends discovered that their new home was in fact a 100+ year old school house — inspiring the name. The group was recently awarded Group of the Year at Ottawa Music Awards and Album of the Year by Ottawa Faces Magazine. Their live shows combine upbeat, catchy singalongs with nostalgic & emotive folk tunes to bring a wise, yet youthful perspective to the Canadian folk music scene. Releasing their debut album in 2023 and an Acoustic EP in 2024; the band has amassed over 250k online streams.
Montreal’s Clay Hazey makes country music for city mice. Consider him a gateway to twang. Blending clever, sincere lyricism with earnest, broken vocals and hooky melodies, Hazey takes what he wants from country and western and fills in the blanks as he pleases.
May Davis is an emerging singer-songwriter who recently relocated from Revelstoke, BC to the beautiful Ottawa Valley. Her unique and unforgettable sound pulls from blues, americana and old-time country western with smokey vocals that echo vintage crooners like Bobbie Gentry and Janis Joplin, but the unforgettable stories and songs she brings to the stage are all her own.
