Val d'Avalon is a multi-faceted artist who walks the fine line between contrasts. Singer-songwriter, lawyer and mother, she embraces these identities without compartmentalizing them. She instead lets her music draw the outlines of the dualities that inhabit her: softness and intensity, melancholy and effervescence, nostalgia and the present moment.
With her background in musical theater, Val strums her guitar to share the ups and downs of her daily life, deploying a voice that is both powerful and nuanced, where each interpretation is coloured with sensitivity and authenticity.
A globetrotter at heart, her guitar and ukulele have accompanied her to several continents, each journey nurturing her inspiration. It was motherhood, however, that lead to her decision of finally sharing her creations, eager to pass on to her daughters her passion for music and the importance of following one's dreams.
Val performs regularly in Ottawa and Gatineau. Several of her songs are already available on streaming platforms, and she is currently working on a mini-album.
