Ceippo with abijah and Dom Doyon at LIVE! on Elgin
Ceippo: Ceippo are an indie folk-punk band based in Toronto. They draw from an eclectic variety of influences ranging from Americana bands like The Band and The Evett brothers to off kilter punk acts like The Violent Femmes and The Velvet Underground. They are known for eccentric live performances mixing fast paced and raw folk-punk songs like Angst Song and Ballcap Boy with softer more introspective songs such as How the City Grows and Summer.
abijah: Ottawa-based singer-songwriter abijah draws inspiration from 21st century indie folk songwriters such as Sufjan Stevens, Gregory Alan Isakov, and Adrianne Lenker, incorporating unique aesthetics into a more classic indie folk sound. Abijah’s music places existential questions about the complexities of being against a dreamy “bedroom folk” backdrop. With a mix of acoustic warmth, analog rawness, and digital textures, their songs live in a sonic world that defies genre and pulls the listener simultaneously inwards and outwards.
Dom Doyon: Dom Doyon is a singer-songwriter from Ottawa. He draws influence from the class of John Frusciante, Oasis, Elliott Smith, and Brian Eno. He is known for emotional/folk-y songs such as Let Your Head Down & Cry
