Each month Bluegrass Wednesdays begins with a 2 hour concert followed by a jam session.
Concert goers are encouraged to bring your instruments and /or voices and join in for a post concert jam.
We're pleased that our very first Bluegrass Wednesday is none other than our good friends in Concession 23. Concession 23 is an energetic, award-winning Canadian bluegrass band based in and around the valley region surrounding Canada's capital city of Ottawa. The band's musical strength lies in its teamwork, its energetic playing style, and in the relaxed relationship it establishes with its audiences. Not to mention their excellent musical prowess and beautiful vocal arrangements. They give new life to the Bluegrass standards you've come to adore, and have original songs that weave stories that intrigue and pluck at the heartstrings. The band is Kevin Golka (mandolin/vocals); Sherry Philp (banjo/vocals); and Nick Strachan (guitar/vocals); Jonathon Ferrabee (bass).
You can still pay at the door if there is room available.
FOLLOWING THE CONCERT will be a jam, off the stage, open to anyone who wants to pick and sing some bluegrass songs. So, bring your instrument, or your voices if you want to take part in the post concert jam. Let's make it a great one!
