Each month Bluegrass Wednesdays begins with a 2 hour concert followed by a jam session.
Concert goers are encouraged to bring your instruments and /or voices and join in for a post concert jam.
Traditional-style bluegrass music is always on the menu when Bluegrass Junction hits the stage. Bluegrass Junction, in various personnel combinations, performed regularly in the Ottawa area and at local festivals during the period 1985-1998. An initial "one-off" reunion performance led to a reformed edition of the band which has played occasional gigs around the area over the past several years.
The current band includes three of the members from the late ‘90's edition of Bluegrass Junction: Peter McGuire (banjo and vocals); Nancy McGuire (bass and vocals); Al McDonald (guitar and vocals). Rounding out the roster are the newest member of the group – Andrew McGuire (guitar, banjo, mandolin and vocals) and, when available, award-winning fiddler Peter Dawson. You can still pay at the door if there is room available.
FOLLOWING THE CONCERT will be a jam, off the stage, open to anyone who wants to pick and sing some bluegrass songs. So, bring your instrument, or your voices if you want to take part in the post concert jam. Let's make it a great one!
