Bayash Sisters are a folk-pop duo from Ottawa, ON, known for their intricate harmonies. Born into a musical family, sisters Eliza “Yarro” and Emma Bayash have been singing together for as long as they can remember. They spent the past ten years focusing on their own artistic journeys, and have returned to their roots to pay homage to the family and community that have supported them since the very beginning.
Eliza is a graduate of the National Theatre school of Canada and the RBC x Launchpad Music Entrepreneurship Program as “Yarro”. She has independently released 4 singles and an EP and has most notably performed at Ottawa Bluesfest, Fashion Art Toronto, and Canadian Music Week.
Emma has a background in classical voice, and played in Ottawa-based folk-rock bands“Sounds of Stories” and “Mad Gamma” for a number of years while progressing in her career as a mental health nurse. In 2022 she spread her wings and began her journey as a solo artist with her 7-track EP “Circles”.
Funded by Ontario Arts Council, Bayash Sisters released their debut EP, Provenance, in May 2023, exploring themes of identity, belonging, and home. Some notable performances include Capital Pride, Unplugged North, and “On the Fly” at Billy Bishop.
