From fist pumping, stomp your feet workingman anthems to soulful ballads of love, heartache and loss; James’ songs are all about storytelling. Intensely thought-out lyrics grind through raspy vocal chords with powerful emotion to produce rich, dark imagery that can really punch you in the heart.
The experience escalates even further when backed by his band The Cable 22’s, bassist Rob Snasdell-Taylor(Chops), lead guitarist Robbie Rigg, and drummer Michael Hunter. James Leclaire grew up in the small town of Renfrew Ontario 45mins west of the nation’s capital and now resides in Manotick Ontario.
He has played across Ontario and the east coast, performed at Ottawa’s Bluesfest, and CityFolk. In 2020, James went into the studio to record new material by mid 2023 he had recorded 38 new songs. Some of which include guitarist/mandolinist Kevin Breit(Norah Jones), drummer Ed Toth(Doobie Bros), guitarist/pianist John Fraser Findlay(Juno Nominee) and harmonicist Mickey Raphael(Nelson/Young/Dylan/Stapleton).
