At a statuesque six-foot-one, it’s hard not to notice Ottawa singer-songwriter Emma Lamontagne but it is her emotive live performances, insightful song writing and soulful voice that has garnered her some well-deserved attention. The winner of the 2016 RBC Ottawa Bluesfest “She’s the One” competition -- Emma was awarded a coveted one-single contract with Cadence Music Group (Universal). The resulting debut single “I Don’t Sleep” surpassed 400,000 streams on Spotify since its release in July 2017. It reached #1 on CKDJ 107.9’s WT10 and peaked at #16 on the CBC Radio 2 Top 20 chart where it continues to enjoy regular rotation.
Inspired by deeply personal experiences, her writing is honest and unfettered, and crafted with polished pop-infused melodies. Her natural ease on stage has already earned her many fans including noted industry influencers, such as 5-time Juno Award Winner 5-time Canadian Classic Award Winner and Grammy Nominee Alan Frew Glass Tiger (Capitol). Emma has just completed writing and recording her first album, Uncomfortable Eye Contact with multi-platinum producer Rob Wells (Sony ATV).
